Sonali Patel, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Sonali is a distinguished Emergency Medicine Physician in Houston, Texas. She is dedicated to being at the forefront of her field by understanding the latest advancements and keeping a patient-centered approach with exceptional care. She received her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, her medical degree from Rush Medical College, and completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she served as the Critical Care Vice Chief.

Candace Sherman

Director of Operations

Candace is a highly skilled professional with over 25 years of experience in customer service, sales, and management in the retail and travel industry. She joined ACP in 2019 and has been responsible for maintaining & developing the culture of our Care Team, and executing projects in accordance with our physician’s and Ascent Care Partner’s strategic, financial, and business objectives. She holds a BA in Creative Writing, Film, and Asian Studies from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.

Marc Sherman, MD, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Marc is a well-rounded business and medical professional with almost 30 years of experience in medical practice operations and healthcare administration. He has extensive experience in the sector in which ACP focuses. He holds a BA from the University of Texas, an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine.

Robert Freeman, JD, MHA

Chief Operating Officer

Robert is a business leader with a strong focus on operations, organizational development, and process improvement for the past 20+ years. He excels in implementing innovative solutions to business problems by blending the best of people, processes, and technology. He holds a BA from Arkansas Tech University, an MHA from the University of Missouri, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Sumit Sikka

Advisory Board Member

Sumit is an excellent business strategist with more than 17 years of experience working in the healthcare industry. He started his first business in 2002 when he was just 17 years old and his own tech company in 2015. He has a keen understanding of market trends and readily comes up with creative solutions to improve a business. He holds a BA in Economics and Finance from the University of Colorado.
